When you hear music today doesn’t it seem like there’s something missing? Like the heart and soul that used to make music so enjoyable only a decade ago has some how gone astray? Well to the men of S.O.L.I.D they certainly feel that music today isn’t what it used to be, and they hope to be the ones to change that.
The journey of S.O.L.I.D began in 1999 when three high school friends decided to come together and make music. It was at that time that J-Romeo, Angel, and Starchild forged a pact and promised to always stay loyal to each other, and committed to their music.
The trio began going by the name S.O.L.I.D, which means Sounds of Love in Devotion. S.O.L.I.D also represents their unity and friendship because like the name, there bond was S.O.L.I.D and nothing or no one could come between them.
For many years the group worked on developing their sound. Creating a style motivated by their many influences, which included everyone from New Edition and Michael Jackson to Prince and Aerosmith. All the while they were developing their talents as singers, songwriters, and even producers. Along the way they learned many crucial life lessons...many of which became inspiration for some of the group’s best songs.
Throughout the years, they struggled to make their dreams reality, and with every step they took, they got closer and closer to achieving their goal. As time progressed their determination became stronger, and after several years of striving destiny finally landed them at Diamond Cut Records. It was hear that the group would craft such signature songs as “Body Rock”, “Reasons”, and the infectious “Scandalous”.
Just when things where beginning to come through for the fellas of S.O.L.I.D, they realized there group was missing a crucial element, and began the search for a fourth member. It was at this time that they met 17 year old singer/songwriter Aries, and after collaborating together on the ballad “Walk Away” they decided to make him the newest edition to the group.
Now a quartet, the men of S.O.L.I.D are looking to take the music industry by storm. Armed with their unique blend of R&B, Pop, Rock and Soul, and their undying determination, they are setting out to prove that true talent and true artistry still exist.
